Hi everyone,
I have been eying up the Sew Over It Ulitmate Trousers for a while now, especially after the lovely Rebecca of RedWSews made some gorgeous floral ones! But I always thought this style trouser wouldn’t suit me, and that I would have loads of fitting issues.
But I decided that instead of just questioning it, to just jump in and sew them!
I opted to use some cheaper fabric from Minerva Crafts just in case. It’s a light weight spot denim.
I looked at the sizes of the Ultimate Trousers and opted for a size 12 as I have lost quite a bit of weight recently.
The sewing of these trousers are so super quick! They don’t have pockets so they are just crouch, side seams, zip and facings/waistband (if you follow Lisa’s hack).
As this was a wearable toile for me, I opted to make not changes. And they fit amazingly. I have taken them in at the centre and back seam to make them sit closer to my body. I just then tapered it in.
I have to say, I do love how these trousers look with big my top tucked in and with it out!
I will definitely be making another pair in my more expensive fabric!
I like the second pair I will also raise the waist line by 1 inch so they are sitting on my natural waist.
Hope you all like them. I will be road testing them tomorrow!
Love, Abigail x
They look great! Love the photo of you pointing at your bum (which looks cracking). I really need to revisit the Ultimate Trousers – I gave up when I had fitting trouble.
